INSIGHT

INSIGHT

Only visibility doesn’t solve the moment of uncertainty.

So I extended the concept into Alfie — an agentic support application designed to help early-career professionals navigate real workplace situations with clarity, confidence, and practical language, who is modelled after Alfred Pennyworth, from Batman.

HYPOTHESIS

HYPOTHESIS

We believe that our boundary-setting app will create less stressed, more engaged employees while boosting productivity and work quality organization-wide.

Objective 1 Help users identify when a task is out of their scope

Objective 2 Increase quality of work and productivity

Objective 3 Relieve stress related to setting boundaries

THE IDEA

Alfie is a strategic, AI-powered trusted advisor.

Inspired by Batman’s Alfred, the experience is designed to feel like a calm, intelligent chief of staff, someone who helps you think clearly, act professionally, and avoid burnout. Alfie is focused on user growth, not dependency

Core Value

  • Turn ambiguity into clarity

  • Turn overwhelm into structured action

  • Turn hesitation into confident communication

Key Features

Structural Decision Support

Alfred diagnoses the real issue before responding: - role alignment - prioritization - communication - boundary-setting - overwhelm / confidence

Counsel Modes

Role Alignment → What do I actually own? Task Management → What matters most right now? Communication → What should I say (exactly)? Boundary-Setting → How do I push back professionally? Confidence Support → How do I move forward without spiralling?

Experience Design

Users are more likely to stick with an app that allows for customization rather than seeking out competitors. Personalized recommendations can also increase sales by 30%

Prompt Architecture

Key Principles

- role alignment first - clarity before action - sustainable performance over people-pleasing - boundaries are professional - coach toward independence

Guardrails

Alfred is intentionally designed to not: - glorify burnout - assume urgency without evidence - encourage passive-aggressive communication - shame uncertainty - normalize unhealthy workplace dynamics

Tone Design

- calm, polished, direct - emotionally intelligent but not sentimental - concise, conversational, not lecture-heavy - practical enough for real workplace use

THE PROCESS

Conversational Design

A four-stage process for building Alfie, using Claude, Claude Code, GitHub, and Railway.

CONVERSATIONAL DESIGN

Consilio explored how better workload visibility could reduce burnout and clarify ownership across teams.

As the Content Writer (Voice) on that project, I helped shape how the product communicated sensitive ideas like scope, boundaries, and professional expectations.
